Remember health insurance is mandatory for all guest during the entire duration of their stay in Poland.
EU/EFTA CITIZENS
Do you have your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC)?
In Poland EU/EFTA citizens are allowed to use their own health insurance from their country of origin. If you want to use the services of the Polish healthcare system you need to register in the main institution responsible for the healthcare National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia, NFZ) by presenting the S1 form.
NON EU/EFTA CITIZENS
Regardless of the health insurance with which you entered the country, we recommend having a voluntary insurance in National Health Fund (Narodowy Fundusz Zdrowia, NFZ) or from a private insurance provider with which you can access a greater number of services with a monthly pay contribution with a discount for students and Researchers.
POLISH DESCENDENT
Students with a Pole’s Card or a certificate of Polish origin issued by the Polish Consulate do not have to pay health insurance contributions on their own. In such cases, the obligation to provide health insurance rests with the University
